This ambitious British start-up company first announced its plans in the summer of 2009.The connaught Type-DGT Syracuse isn’t a hybrid. The electronic control system for that still needs more work and so in the mean time the extra ordinary narrow angle V10 engine has been fitted with a supercharger and the car is launched as a high performance rear drive coupe with a UK price of 65,000 pounds.

Connaught

The Connaught is about the size of an Audi TT but has four reasonable seats and with 300bhp from its supercharged engine claims performance not far short of the Prodrive P2. The hybrid version that is now due at the end of 2009 promises to be a better proposition at 40,000 pounds. Incidentally, the name Syracuse commemorates the first and only Grand Prix win in 1955 by the Connaught racing tea.
