Apache Engines & performance

The Apache is the quickest bike in this test. By just a fraction, mind, but quickest nevertheless. There’s nothing in it as far as top speeds go, both the Apache and Pulsar clocking 112kmph while the Unicorn clocks 110.8kmph and the Achiever maxes out at 108.1kmph. While the Apache is the quickest, it’s the Achiever that has the strongest motor in this test. In the roll on tests the Achiever takes the least time in third, fourth and fifth gears to get to 70kmph from 30 and rated as Achiever’s motor as the most refined in this test. The fact that the Achiever makes 0.1PS of power and 0.5Nm of torque more than the Unicorn. Honda engines, displacing 149.1cc, makes their power is a lesson to both Bajaj and TVS. Even at peak revs the motors retain composure and at cruising speeds it’s a factor of the relatively taller gearing that sees her pull lesser revs at 80kmph that makes the Unicorn more sedate at speed.
